Springtime tea party (Open)

Hooves hitting the earth echoed lightly though the forest as the stallion made his way forward. Copperhead had no real plan and simply wanted to learn the lay of the land. Being that he had just recently found and claimed a nice spot of land to start a herd he had a kick to his step. The brute proudly trotted around, head high as he looked about. Golden eyes scanned everything around him as he listened to the breeze. As he took his stroll he had hoped to come across a pretty lady or two to bring into his new home. He was young and a fine creature therefore who wouldn’t want to be part of his harem? Or so he thought.

Winding his way through tree Copperhead found his way to a small stream and came to a stop just at it’s bank. Blinking for a few moments as he listened to the forest. The spring air crisp that morning, but his throat was dry from his travels so after checking to make sure it was safe he lowered his head to drink. As the cool liquid reached his lips he let out a soft [smear:#b87333]“Hmmm…”[/smear:#FFD700:0] Thinking about the land he was glad he had came across the valley he know calls home, but he did wish that his family could see it. At least his cousins, maybe even his sisters if they weren’t too annoying about him leaving their good to get his own life started. He wasn’t getting any younger and like heck he would stay with them just to babysit his little half brother that boy was on his own.

The appaloosa mare dipped her head for drink at the stream. Mornings here were always beautiful and quiet. It wasn't until the sun was breaching the horizon that the birds began to sing and other small creatures began to stir. But none of that ever seemed to disturb the peace here. Her emerald eyes scanned the trees lazily as she lifted her head, water beading from her maw in small droplets. Swishing her tail, she inhaled deeply, a smile creeping along her lips as she closed her eyes and sank into the lands around her. She listened closely to everything around her as nature sang her tune in the light breeze that rolled briefly through the tall pines. Then, a sound that was not the usual here presented itself and the spotted mare's ears flicked back as she turned her head to look behind her. With an irritated grunt, she pinned her ears, not at all happy with this intrusion.

Moving quietly and swiftly, she made her way for the trees, disappearing into the shadows as the sun had yet to make it's way through the trees. She moved towards the direction of whoever she'd picked up on, stopping when she was certain that she was far enough from the stream, but also not within their line of sight. They could be from the Stronghold. Her ears pricked forward from their pinned state when the stallion came into view. It coat was a brilliant chestnut, but he too bore the mark of the appaloosa. Might lighter than she in color, he was also taller and had a few scars marking his body. He looked as if he were built for battle, and that made Tattoo even more wary of him. Lowering his head to drink, the bay appaloosa mare moved only slightly closer, stopping in her tracks when he lifted his head, letting a sound escape his body. When she was certain he still hadn't noticed her, she relaxed a little, but did not move forward or make a sound. Instead, her bright green eyes peered into him from the dark embrace of the shadows. But, with the sun rising fast, she had two options and only one of them made her noticeable.
