A soft breeze made the tall grass tickle at her knees. She swished her tail and dipped her head to take in mouth fulls of the sweet grass. It was the best she'd ever tasted. Snorting her approval, the mare moved forward at a walk. Her head was held high and each step seemed to exude confidence. The rabicano vixen looked over the land carefully, surveying as far as her amber eyes could see. When she was satisfied that no one else was in sight, she dropped her guard and sighed in her peace. The sun was setting quickly behind her and she felt relief in knowing that her search for a place of her own was over. Plopping into the grass, the mare rolled before standing and shaking the debris loose from her black pelt. It was time to see what else these lands had to offer her.
As she made her way around it's border and to it's center, she was very much please. Trees dotted the areas and was particularly thick around a clearing towards the very back of the territory. A creek ran across the center of the land, almost as if splitting it in two. The water that moved through was clear and refreshing. With the landscape being mostly flat and open, there was almost no chance that anyone could simply sneak in and out without being noticed. To the rocky mountain mare, that meant safety. It was much different that her home in the mountains, but she liked that idea quite a lot. It was nice to have something different.
As she rounded the border of the territory once more, the mare finally moved to a place she found acceptable. Standing tall and firm in place, her voice boomed over the lands and echoed into the horizon. "I, Valkyrie, take claim to these lands as my own! Henceforth, they will known as Valhalla!" She stomped a hoof as if in defiance of an invisible audience. As her voice settled, so did the silence of the lands as the sun tipped below the horizon and the moon rose to take her place in the sky. Valkyrie bobbed her head aggressively and trotted away in the darkness, only visible by the white of her legs and the tips of her mane and tail.
